Connect-World: Bowman offers broadband vision for thirsty enterprises Danny Bowman, president of Sprint’s Integrated Solutions Group, gives communications-savvy readers an intriguing vision of broadband communications in the recently released Connect-World North America 2010 special edition. In his bylined opinion piece, Bowman writes that “broadband is like water for thirsty enterprises” and goes on to describe its “far-reaching implications, enabling capabilities that can have a transformative effect on operations, cost structure and market-making strategy itself.” Bowman identifies three states of broadband, including today’s emerging “fully integrated, dispersed broadband” with M2M (machine-to-machine) at its leading edge. Through M2M, Bowman says, “a variety of ingenious – sometimes transformative – uses can be created by using broadband to connect a vast array of devices as diverse as smart meters, signboards, high-definition cameras, remote sensors, laptops and appliances.” Bowman was among a select group of industry leaders invited to contribute to the annual edition published by Connect-World magazine.
